This explains what information Ready Set Music Bingo collects when you play at rsmb.online, what we do with it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and plain.
Who we are
Ready Set Music Bingo is a live music bingo game played in bars and online, a brand of Ready Set Entertainment, based in Ontario, Canada. This site is rsmb.online. The old address, bingokings.ca, sends you here. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Ready Set Entertainment, the company behind Ready Set Music Bingo.
What we collect
If you play as a guest (no account), we get the name you type, the avatar you pick, your bingo card, and what you do in the game: the squares you mark, the wins you claim, and your answers in bonus rounds. Your phone also gets a random device ID so we can tell your phone apart from others and bring you back to your card.
If you create a profile, we also keep:
- Your email address.
- Your display name and avatar.
- Your game history and stats, such as games played and wins.
- Your player number, a running number given to each new profile in the order profiles are created. Only you see it, on your profile.
- Your card look settings and any pubs you mark as favourites.
- If you tapped “let me know” on the upgrade page, the fact that you asked.
- Your email choice (see Emails below), including when and where you made it.
- Your invite link code, how many times you have shared your invite link, and how many new players signed up from it. You see those two numbers on your profile. You never see who signed up, and the friend is not told who invited them.
If you sign up from a friend’s invite link, we remember which profile the link came from, so the friend who shared it gets credit. We keep that with your account.
If you choose Continue with Google, Google gives us your email address and name. We use them to create your account and sign you in, and for nothing else. The display name other players see is the one you choose, not your Google name.
Game reminders. If you turn on reminders for online games, your browser gives us a push address for your device so we can send the notification. You do not need an account for this.
Technical information. Like most websites, our servers and providers see your IP address and browser details when you connect. For players who listen to the game audio, we also log when the audio was interrupted (for example, when you switched apps) along with your device type and browser, so we can make the audio work better.
Chat. When a host turns on chat, typed messages are shown to the room and are not saved on our servers. We keep only a count of messages per player.
Who sees your name
Your display name and avatar can appear on your card, on other players’ screens, and on the display board that a bar shows to the whole room, for example on a leaderboard or when you win. Pick a name you are happy for others in the room to see. Your email address is never shown to other players.
The host of a game runs it from their own screen and may see the names of the players who joined.
How we use it
- To run the game, deal your card, and check wins.
- To sign you in and keep your profile, stats and settings.
- To send the emails and reminders described here.
- To fix problems and keep the service working.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Emails
We send you a sign-in code when you sign in. When people create profiles or opt in to updates, we also get a daily email listing their email addresses and whether they opted in to updates.
Updates about online games, news and offers are sent only if you tick the box. It is never ticked for you. We record that you agreed, and when and where (the sign-in screen or your profile). You can change your mind at any time by unticking the box on your profile page, or by emailing contact@readysetmusicbingo.com.
Who helps us run the service
We use these companies to run the service. Each one handles your information only to do its job for us:
- Supabase: our database and sign-in system.
- Vercel: hosts the website, and counts visits to it (which pages are viewed, and the country, device and browser type) so we can see how many people use it. It does not use cookies or follow you from site to site.
- Resend: sends our emails, including sign-in codes.
- LiveKit: streams the game audio, and the host’s video when a host uses it, to players. Players only receive; your phone does not send audio or video.
- Google: only if you choose Continue with Google.
We do not use advertising trackers on the site. Some of these providers may store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where local laws apply. We may also share information if the law requires it.
Cookies and storage on your device
We use a small number of cookies and browser storage items. They keep the game working. None are for advertising.
- Sign-in cookies keep you signed in once you have a profile.
- Device ID, a cookie and browser storage item that lasts up to a year, recognizes your phone when you join games.
- Browser storage remembers your card and marked squares, your card settings, light or dark mode, hints you have already seen, a sign-in that is in progress, your game reminder and filter choices, and the invite code from a friend’s link until you sign up.
You can clear these in your browser settings. If you do, you may be signed out and lose the card on your phone.
How long we keep it
We keep your profile and game history until you ask us to delete them. We do not have an automatic deletion schedule for guest game records, so they stay until we remove them. If you turn off reminders, we remove your device’s push address.
Your choices
- You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you.
- You can ask us to correct it. You can also change your name and avatar on your profile page.
- You can ask us to delete your account and information. There is not yet a delete button, so email contact@readysetmusicbingo.com from the address on your account and we will delete it.
- You can opt out of emails at any time, as described above.
We follow Canadian privacy and anti-spam rules (PIPEDA and CASL) as we understand them. If you are not happy with how we handled a request, you can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
Ready Set Music Bingo is meant for a general audience at bars and events. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us personal information, email contact@readysetmusicbingo.com and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we change it in a big way, we will tell you in the app or by email.
